Vacancies and Available Positions:

This notice is to inform the public that there are five (5) vacancies on the Convention Center and Hotel Public Facilities Board. Applicants are not required to live in the City but must reside in Jefferson County. Each member shall serve a staggered term of five (5) years each. The Public Facilities Board will be responsible for the general oversight of the recreational and tourist facilities. These are volunteer positions with no compensation. This notice is to inform the public that there are four (4) vacancies on the Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility Commission. Wastewater Commissioners are responsible for the general oversight of the Wastewater Utility.  This includes the approval of major infrastructure projects, system improvements, and providing financial resources for the Utility, as proposed by the General Manager.  The Annual Budget for the Wastewater Utility is approximately $7M and the operation has nearly 50 employees.  All Commission members should be familiar with municipal bond financing related to long term capital improvements.  Commissioner members can expect to interact with attorneys, auditors, financial representatives, environmental regulators, civil engineers, and other technical experts. It is incumbent that the Wastewater Utility must meet federal compliance requirements daily,  related to the operation of a large wastewater collection system and treatment facility.   Commissioners must assure full compliance with federal mandates concerning the wastewater system to prevent violations of the federal Clean Water Act, which could result in substantial penalties for noncompliance.

This notice is to inform the public that there is one (1) vacancy on the Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission. The Advertising and Promotion Commission is charged with the responsibility of administering the city's advertising and promotion fund.  The available position is open to owners or managers of a business within the tourism industry. Applicants must be a qualified elector within Pine Bluff, AR, and shall serve for a term of four (4) years. This is a volunteer position with no compensation. This notice is to inform the public that there are two (2) vacancies on the Pine Bluff Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission is responsible for adopting the city's land use plan or master street plan, zoning ordinances, review requests for zoning changes or variances to zoning rules and make recommendations for changes for zoning ordinances.  Commission members should be qualified by knowledge or experience to act upon matters pertaining to the physical, social and economic development of the city. Applicants must be a qualified elector within Pine Bluff, AR, and shall serve for a term of three (3) years. These are volunteer positions with no compensation.
