Juneteenth commemorates the delayed announcement of the Emancipation Proclamation to the enslaved in Texas in 1865 - over two years after it was issued on January 1, 1863. Just eight years later, in 1873, Branch Normal College, now known as UAPB, was founded - making this celebration even more meaningful for our community.

Come celebrate freedom, heritage, and pride - right here in The Bluff!
